analytics is your choice
This is Darsh Thakkar’s personal portfolio. Google Analytics stays off until you choose “accept analytics”. Declining does not change how the site works. No Google analytics script or tracking request is sent before acceptance.
what it measures
After acceptance, analytics measures public page visits and a small set of interactions: project cards, prototype steps and choices, ratings, and visits to the live PreGame app. These help me understand which work is useful to visitors.
Events use known public page paths and fixed interaction labels, not names, email addresses, form contents, full referral URLs, URL queries, or fragments. Only a short, approved list of non-personal campaign sources and mediums is retained; other campaign values and advertising click IDs are discarded. Private admin and board pages are not measured.
Google receives browser/device information and your IP address as part of a network request. This is not anonymous browsing. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google signals are disabled.
storage and changing your mind
Your accept or decline choice is stored in this browser’s local storage until you change it or clear site data. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice lasts only for the current page session. Separately, the site remembers preferences such as sound and theme.
If accepted, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (including _ga) to recognize visits. They are configured to expire after 60 days and may be renewed by subsequent visits. Analytics event data is configured for two-month retention; aggregate reports may remain longer.
Use “analytics settings” at the bottom of any public portfolio page to change your choice. Declining stops future tracking and removes this site’s accessible analytics cookies. It cannot recall requests already sent or erase previously collected reports. Your choice applies to this browser, not all your devices.
